The Best Tent We Ever Had!

My family has tent camped for a combined seven solid months during the past three years. Four of those months were continuous camping with one amazing tent!  This tent was easy to put up, spacious, survived a flash flood, went through a tropical storm, and so much more!   When the Colman dome-style and traditionally designed tents were on the ground broken, this tent stood strong — and dry!  Before your next family campout, get the ….

The Ozark Trail 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent sets up in under two minutes! This 12-person tent requires no assembly because the poles are pre-attached to the tent; just unfold and extend. This three-room, cabin-style tent has large windows on all sides and room to stand up. It features a large front awning for relaxing under the shade. In addition, it comfortably fits three queen airbeds or up to 12 campers in sleeping bags on the floor. Two internal room dividers allow you to create separate sleeping and living spaces. Keep cool with the oversized ground vent that also fits an air conditioner.

3 Reasons to Love the Ozark Trail Instant Cabin Tent

The Flash Flood:

During our two week camping trip to the Florida Keys we were caught in a flash flood that left our tent floating! Because of the lightening, we took refuge in a utility trailer for the night and woke up to shin-deep water the next morning!  The entire interior and all of the contents inside of our tent were dry!  The tent itself was floating on top of the flood waters!

The Tropical Storm:

A month later we took refuge in a hotel for two days during a tropical storm in North Carolina.  We left our tent at camp with our camping gear inside.  When we returned, other tents in the campground had collapsed and RV awnings were on the ground.  Driving through the resort we grew more and more terrified of what we would find when we returned to our tent.  To our surprise, we returned to a tent that was still up, anchored completely, and all of our contents inside was dry.

The End of Summer:

After camping with our Ozark Trail 3 Room Instant Cabin Tent while traveling the Southeast from March to July, we decided it was time to retire it.  After more than 100 days of abuse, our tent needed to be resealed from sun exposure. After we returned home we purchased a smaller, weekender tent and we weren’t as pleased with it (even on weekend camp-outs).

What you want to know

The design of the Ozark Trail 3 Room Instant Cabin Tent allowed us to setup camp in narrow campsites.   There are two front doors so you can easily situate one of them at the opening of your campsite regardless of the direction difficulties you may face.

Setup is very easy.  We were able to accomplish a fully erected tent in less than 5 minutes — even in the dark!

We didn’t seal our tent before we began our journey, however, I do recommend you seal your tent for added protection from the sun if you plan to camp in areas that expose your rainfly to direct sunlight.  This is not “required” but it is something we recommend if you want to protect your investment and use if for years to come.

What is your family’s favorite tent?
